CES 2024 Report Tips: Expert Guide

CES 2024 Guide The seventh CES 2024 report writing tip: Your guide to a professional and effective report. After attending CES 2024, it’s important to organize your experiences and knowledge in your own words and, if necessary, share them.

An effective CES report can help your team or company make the most of the insights you gained at CES, especially if you were traveling on official company business. Based on our experience attending the show every year and sharing insight reports internally and externally, we’re sharing some tips on how to create an effective CES report.

Before CES: Check out the official site and Innovation Award winners

Check out the official site

The official CES site follows a similar format every year, but the content changes slightly. For starters, when the official site opens, you can see what topics will be covered at that year’s CES. Sometimes there are topics that weren’t there before, for example, Spaces Technology and Web3 & Metaverse, which are related to space, were two recent additions.

View keynote speakers

The CTA, which organizes CES, is officially in charge of the keynote sessions. Most of the time, it’s the big companies that get to take the stage, and it’s usually the companies and topics that best represent that year’s theme. At CES 2024, Siemens, L’Oréal, Snap, Walmart, Intel, HD Hyundai, Qualcomm, Nasdaq, and Best Buy will be delivering keynotes, which will not only be covered by various media outlets during the event, but will also be available as videos on YouTube and elsewhere, so paying attention to what they’re talking about will help you get a sense of the overall trends.

Check out the Innovation Award winners

One of the most important things to do before attending CES is to take a look at the Innovation Award winners and their products, especially the Best of Innovation, which is a great barometer of the year’s trends. You can check out the full list on the homepage, and if you’re at the show, you’ll often see plaques at booths that have received these Innovation Awards, so it’s a good idea to keep an eye out for those products. However, sometimes in Eureka Park, where there are a lot of startups, they may have plaques from previous years, not the current year, so it’s good to keep that in mind.

Attending CES: See official CTA announcements and online media coverage

CTA official announcement sessions and materials

The Tech Trends to Watch sessions are the most important of the official presentations by the CTA, which organizes CES. You’ll get a lot of insights that we put together as we prepare for that year’s CES, and if you’re writing a CES report, it’s probably the most relevant session. For reference, you can watch the Tech Trends to Watch session from CES 2023 in the video below. The slides will also be available on various media outlets and official sites after the session during the show, so be sure to check them out.

Read specialized media articles

CES is a special time of year for tech media outlets, as well as the general public who visit the show. Tech media outlets from all over the world do a great job at CES, so if you pay attention to their articles, you can find things that you might not have seen on the show floor. In addition, journalists from many media outlets also visit the show and publish various articles, so you can get second-hand information about conferences and keynotes that you might not have seen in person.

Post-CES: Read CES 2024 reports, consulting and brokerage reports

During the exhibition period, articles from domestic and foreign media are helpful, but they are more of a one-time information acquisition. However, if you check the reports of securities companies after attending CES, you can get insights that you didn’t see at the exhibition or have a different perspective. In addition, global consulting firms such as PwC also release various reports. If you monitor them before and after, you will be able to find meaningful reports.

Whether you need to write your own CES 2024 report, went to CES and want to read a report with a little more insight, or couldn’t make it to CES but still want to see the trends, we hope you found this helpful. Whether you’re just looking for information or want to organize your own insights, we hope you’re ready for the start of the year.

CES2024 Tour: Show floor directions, how to use the show map, and VIP tours

CES 2024 Guide This is the sixth article of our CES 2024 show floor tour itinerary. Attending CES is an incredibly exciting experience, as you get to see and feel the world’s biggest technology trends firsthand, as well as feel a sense of global change.

However, the CES show floor is far more spread out than any other event, and the space itself is huge. With more than 4,000 exhibitors at CES 2024, it’s important to get around efficiently. In this article, I’ll show you how to organize your show tour if you’re planning to attend CES 2024.

CES2024 Show Admission Process

Verify your badge

Badge required: Your pre-registered and received badge is required to enter the CES show. Check your badge before entering the show, and wear it around your neck so event staff can see it at all times. See our previous article on getting your show badge.

Security checks

Security procedures: CES attracts over 100,000 attendees, so there are security checks at all show floor entrances. If you find yourself outside, be prepared to go through security again. However, if you have a bag, you’ll usually get a visual inspection, though some may be skipped if there’s a large crowd. However, it’s worth noting that these security checks can sometimes be a hassle when traveling between buildings.

Sample itinerary for a one-day visit

If I only had one day to see the show floor, I’d head to the second floor of the Venitian Expo to take in all the CES Innovation Award winners visually first. Once I’ve gotten a feel for the trends in this year’s CES winners, I’ll head over to Eureka Park on the first floor and spend the morning focused on the booths of the Innovation Award-winning startups.

From there, we head over to the LVCC and focus on the major players we’re interested in. I’ll stop by Central Hall first to see the traditional consumer electronics powerhouses like LG, Samsung, and Sony, then move on to North Hall and West Hall. Keep in mind that South Hall is sometimes not open, and when it is, there aren’t many companies with big brand recognition.

Sample itinerary for a 2-day visit

If I had two days to see the show floor, I’d head to the second floor of the Venitian Expo to take in all the CES Innovation Award winners visually first. Once I’ve gotten a feel for the trends in this year’s CES winners, I’ll start visiting the booths of companies with big exhibits on the second floor, including smart home. In the afternoon, we head over to Eureka Park on the first floor and focus on the booths of the Innovation Award-winning startups we saw in the morning. Since the startups are organized by country, it’s most efficient to move through them visually and ask questions at the booths that interest you.

The next day, we move on to LVCC and focus on the major players we’re interested in. I start with Central Hall to see the traditional consumer electronics powerhouses like LG, Samsung, and Sony, then move on to North Hall and West Hall. Keep in mind that South Hall is sometimes not open, and even when it is, there aren’t many companies with big brand names. However, a few companies do have booths on the outdoor stage. Google and other automotive and space-related companies sometimes exhibit here, so it’s worth checking out.

You can reverse the itinerary for the first day and the second day. Consider the location of your hotel to help you decide where to start.

Sample itinerary for a 3-day visit

If you have three days to see the show floor, that’s the ideal amount of time to enjoy CES. I’d recommend spending Day 2 on the reference itinerary and then spending Day 3 on the exhibits you’d like to see more of. You might see something you missed on Day 1 or 2 that you want to go back and take your time with. Or, you might want to come back on Day 3 to network and discuss future business.

Utilizing the CES Exhibition Map

Understand the show map: Use the show map, available on the official CES app or in the show brochure, to understand the layout of the show floor and make it easier to find the booths you want. Every booth has a booth number. When viewing the map in the official app, you can easily see where you are and where you need to go based on this booth number.

Access to the CES VIP Tour

Some Korean companies, such as LG Electronics and Samsung Electronics, have their own VIP tour programs. If you’re in a position to go on a VIP tour, make a reservation in advance, and show up at that time to get a good understanding of the company. The biggest advantage is that you get a separate docent (guide) to explain the company because it’s so big. You can usually book a tour in advance through the company’s PR organization before you go to CES, or you can sign up on-site to get a date and time. Please note that this is only allowed if there is a business case for it.

Use this guide to successfully navigate CES 2024. We’ll show you how to effectively plan your visit, get VIP tours, and utilize the show map to experience all that CES 2024 has to offer. We hope you have a great show!

The Complete Guide to CES 2024 Registration and Badging

The Complete Guide to CES 2024 Registration and Badging

CES 2024 Guide This is our fifth guide to the CES 2024 registration process and badge pickup. Attending CES is an exciting experience that gives you the chance to see and feel the world’s biggest technology trends firsthand, as well as feel a sense of global change.

However, with over 100,000 people in a short period of time, it’s important to have some tricks up your sleeve to save time and reduce fatigue. In this article, we’ll walk you through the pre-registration process and badge pickup guide if you’re planning to attend CES 2024.

CES 2024 registration process

Advance online registration

Online registration portal: You can register through the online registration portal available on the official CES website. Registration usually opens a few months before the show, and it’s often free when it first opens, so be sure to check the official website sometime over the summer.

If you miss it, you can still register for a fee, which can range from $100 to $350 depending on the time of year. If you can get a promo code from an exhibitor, you might be able to get in for free.

CES Official Web Site

There are usually two options when registering online, but if you’re just visiting the exhibit hall, the lower cost pass on the left is sufficient. If you want to attend conferences and other sessions, you can purchase the pass on the right, but in our experience, it’s hard to get a full tour while attending sessions. Also, keep in mind that these are publicized through various media outlets.

Industry attendee registrants are not members of the media attending the show or covering CES. Industry attendees receive first-come, first-served access to the CES show floor, keynotes, Great Minds sessions, and select conference programs during show hours.

Fill out the required information: Accurately fill out the required information, including personal, contact, and professional information. After completing the required information and finalizing the payment, you will receive an email with a QR code confirming your registration.

Registration fees

Check fees: Registration fees are described above for general attendees, and may vary depending on the type of attendee, such as industry experts or press. Check the costs in advance. It’s worth noting that if you’re registered as a journalist, you’ll have access to many spaces and benefits, but if you’re a member of the public, you won’t be able to register as a journalist.

Early registration benefits

Discounts: We encourage you to register as early as possible, as you’ll receive a discount for early registration. As we mentioned earlier, you can even register for free if you register early enough after the summer.

How to get your CES 2024 badge and tips

Get your badge

You can also pick up your badge at the designated badge pickup booth at the front of the show, but it will be very busy during the show, so we recommend that those flying in from overseas pick up their badge at the airport and those not flying in from overseas pick up their badge near their hotel.

Documents required for pickup

Bring ID: Bring a valid form of ID (driver’s license, passport, etc.) and present the QR you received during registration earlier.

What to expect when you receive your badge

Don’t lose your badge: Your badge is an important way to access the CES show. Be careful not to lose it.
Wait times for on-site pickup: If you’re picking up your badge on-site on the first day of the show, you may experience long wait times, so be sure to give yourself plenty of time.
